3Shape PC Spec 2022 0nwards

3Shape has been pretty generous with the minimum spec in the terms it’s more like the system you should actually be getting for a good experience, but it is flawed, which we will point out soon. We have looked at getting green ticks across the board. These are the Offical “Minimum Specs for 3Shape Software” CPU: Intel Core-i7 RAM: 16GB Graphics: Nvidia Geforce 2 GB Screen resolution: 1920×1080 Full HD O/S : Windows 10 Storage: 500GB conventional or SSD What’s the problem with the above you might ask. Well specifying an Intel i7 is very generic the i7 was first released back in 2008, so ideally they probably mean something from the Coffee Lake period or newer these were released in 2018. AMD have though over the past few years really improved on performance so an AMD Ryzen would suffice here we would suggest a minimum of 8 cores as this would match the Intel i7. RAM they haven’t specified any variation of DDR, so we can use DDR4 (It’s more than likely this one they mean) or the newer DDR5, secondly, there’s no speed mentioned. Memory much like a CPU operates at different speeds, DDR4 goes from 2133MHz right up to 4400MHz. In two of our DDR5 builds, we have used 5200MHz. GPU again this is very thin on information getting a high-end graphics card would be much better as it will perform much faster in running the 3Shape, where as the 2GB could be working very hard to keep up. A Super important note here, for 3Shape you must use an Nvidia GPU, either a 3000 series ie RTX3070 or 3080, Ti versions are also fine. Potentially Quardo’s will work and older generation RTXs but I’m yet to speak to 3Shape on this. Don’t use any AMD / Radeon cards. 3Shape was designed around early Nvidia cards and hasn’t yet and we doubt without major code base changes that AMD cards will be supported in the future. Whilst 3Shape runs with an AMD based GPU it will have on screen errors, colours of teeth will be inconsistent, we’ve seen black & pink, Scans with also render black and the design section maybe slow to use. The screen resolution mentioned is fine but a nice large 32″ screen with a fast refresh rate is ideal for smooth graphics. OS its either Windows 10 or 11, we would still opt for 10 Pro. The storage we wouldn’t use a conventional drive and haven’t for years, the performance from these is poor. Your looking at maximum read-write speeds of 10MBs. Normal SSDs are fine for storage but the cost when compared to an NVMe drive. We only use NVMe drives for the main boot drive with read-write speeds in excess of 3000MBs. We sometimes use NVMe for storage drives depending on the customer’s requirements The 3Shape CAD PC Spec can be found here 3Shape PC Spec.
